The DSA are looking to change the qualifying process in April 2014, with the introduction of a further vocational qualification.  Act now before the changes take affect.

To be an ADI (Advanced Driving Instructor) in the UK there are three tests that you have to pass to qualify, however, before you train for these tests you must:- 

  • Register onto the Driving Instructor Register. 
  • Apply for a CRB check.

What Can We Offer

Course costs are kept simple and easy to manage. You can pay by the hour so you are in control of your financial investment or by paying in blocks of 10 or 20 hours.

At the beginning of each test section a deposit is payable, the cost of which will be the payment cost of any test you are currently working towards. (Deposit not redeemable as a monetary payment).

The training provided will be 

 

  • One to One Instruction, no car sharing
  • Provided by a Female Instructor
  • On mutually agreeable dates

 The steps you need to take in order to become a Driving Instructor

Part One 

This test is a theory test. It is the first of three tests which must be passed.

The test currently costs £90

This test takes around 1 hour 45 minutes and includes:

  • Multiple-choice questions
  • Hazard perception

You must pass both parts at the same time to pass the test.

There's no limit to how many times you can take the test.

 Part Two

This test is a test of your driving ability.

The test currently costs £111

The test takes around 1 hour and includes:

  • An eyesight test
  • Vehicle safety questions
    A test of your driving ability

There is a limit of 3 times you can take the test.

 Part Three

This test is a test of your ability to instruct pupils.

It's the last of 3 tests you have to pass in order to qualify as an ADI.

The test currently costs £111.

The test takes around 1 hour and includes an assessment of:

  • Core competencies
  • Instructional techniques
  • Instructor characteristics

The examiner will assess these by playing the role of 2 different pupils.

There is a limit of 3 times you can take the test.
